My daughter had synovial sarcoma diagnosed in March of 2006. At that time there was only one study done of this cancer of the foot. After 10 years there were no survivors. A Pediatric Oncologist happened to read the study and when my daughters case was brought up in a peer review: he asked to have her as his patient. She was 25 years old then. Seems like all of the patients in the study had 1 or 2 things done: Amputation, radiation, surgery, chemo. I don’t know what you had done besides Amputation. My daughter had surgery on her foot, they had to amputate the little toe as the cancer had spiraled around it. She had six months of brutal chemo – 5 days a week, 8 hours a day for 6 months. We had to drive one hour each way to the chemo site. She was so sick. Then by December 2006 she had 6 weeks of radiation. She is now 37. We can never thank Dr Smith enough for reading the study and wanting her for his patient. The study said people show no sign of the cancer until it comes back in the lungs and then there are no survivors.

You are young, with small children. Please have your Oncologist that ran with you find the study and read it! It was written by a Dr in NC a university that started with a “P”. Sorry, I don’t remember the details better. I am thankful every day that she is still alive and more beautiful than ever!

This story aired on my local ABC affiliate station in Dallas. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing, because in 2012 I discovered a pea sized tumor during a pedicure. The tumor in my lower leg was a high grade sarcoma. Our stories differ in that amputation was not required, but I have had significant surgeries and treatment. My advice is…it’s spring…go get a pedicure! God bless you and thank you for sharing. I thought I was the only one!

You are such an inspiration. Your attitude is amazing and I wish you all the best and a speedy recovery. Sarcoma is a horrifying word to me. Until last November I’d never really hear of it and then it had Carcino in front of it. I lost my beautiful mom to Carcinosarcoma, a very rare and VERY aggressive cancer. I guess that why your story caught my attention. I know it’s a very different form but there is that word. Sarcoma.
Love and Light to ou and your family. I know ou are going to come out the other side of this so well because I can see the fighter in you.

I now have 2 young kids close in age to yours and I am sure you are making the best decision to both be with your kids and stay active with them. You will be in my prayers. I’m sorry this has happened to you I hate Cancer with a vengeance I lost my daughter to cancer in2004 when she was 14 so I know the fear and uncertainty. Stay strong and know so many people are thinking about you.
